Tesla revealed the CyberCab, Robovan, and Optimus robot, emphasizing advancements in autonomous driving and robotics.
Sectors & Industries
The Model Y and CyberCab are designed to operate completely driverless, with no steering wheels or pedals, and are projected to bring transportation costs down to around 20 cents per mile. Tesla aims to launch the CyberCab at a price point under $30,000. The Robovan, a larger vehicle capable of carrying up to 20 passengers or cargo, is set to tackle high-density urban travel and logistics.
Tesla also introduced inductive charging technology, allowing robotaxis to wirelessly charge by driving over a charging pad, removing the need for plugs. The company plans to begin unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) operations in Texas and California by 2025.
Additionally, Tesla provided updates on its humanoid robot, Optimus. Built using the same technology as Tesla’s cars, Optimus is designed to perform a variety of tasks, from household chores to caregiving. Tesla envisions Optimus to be priced between $20,000 and $30,000 at scale, with the potential to become one of its biggest product lines in the future.
